Kolkata Police Constable Eligibility Criteria:

(1) Candidates must have passed the Madhyamik Examination (Matriculation or 10th class equivalent) from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or equivalent.
(2) Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak the Bengali language. However, this provision will not apply to permanent residents of the hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts. For applicants from hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts, the requirements laid down in the West Bengal Official Language Act, 1961, shall apply.
(3) Female candidates are eligible to apply for the post of Lady Constable in Kolkata Police.
(4) Male and third gender/transgender candidates are eligible to apply for the posts of Constable in Kolkata Police.

The Kolkata Police Constable and Lady Constable 2024 recruitment will be selected based on qualifying the Preliminary Written Test, which will act as a screening examination, followed by the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Written Examination, and Interview to be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.

Kolkata Police Constable Exam 2024 Details:

Eligible candidates will have to appear for an MCQ-based preliminary written test for Kolkata Police Constable 2024, which is qualifying in nature. The test will consist of 100 objective-type questions, each with multiple choices (four options) of answers, carrying 01 mark each. The duration of this test will be 01 hour. The question paper will be set in two languages, Bengali and Nepali. Questions in the Preliminary Written Test shall cover the following subjects:-
